Figure out how many units of electricity do you need for daily usage by consulting your past electricity bills and then finalize a panel of varied capacity.

2. Area of installation: 

The output of the solar panel depends upon the area of installation. Go for monocrystalline or polycrystalline solar panels for unshaded or uncovered installation areas as they dispense maximum yields from direct sunlight absorption. For shaded areas, go for amorphous or thin film-based solar panels with power optimizers connected to a normal inverter as thin-film panels work on light reflections rather than direct sunlight.

3. Efficiency:  

Its efficiency is directly proportional to the quality of silicon. If your top priority is efficiency, you should go with the monocrystalline solar panels with micro-inverters build-up of purest silicon material ensuring the highest absorption of sunlight and hence generating the highest possible electrical energy.
